casual work outPeople often ask me why we don’t make our studio available for casual memberships so people can just come in when they like and do their own thing. “You’ll make more money!” they say. “Look at all the 24hr gyms, they’re doing it!” they say.

For those of you who know me well enough, you’ll know that I am not a fan of big gyms, 24hr gyms, health clubs etc. The main reason being that, for 95% of the population, joining a gym and trying to lose weight on their own is simply a waste of time, money and effort.

Folks, losing weight and improving your health, strength, fitness and general level of wellness takes some serious knowledge, experience and expertise.

Is it any wonder that 75% of people who have a casual gym membership stop using it after the first couple of months?!

I used to work in a big gym and I would get so frustrated seeing the same people come in day after day thinking they were doing all the right things but in actual fact they were just going nowhere fast. They would only do what they were familiar with and what they were comfortable doing. Not surprisingly, these people didn’t achieve any real results in all the years I saw them.

Just imagine if the school your kids go to started letting them teach themselves. Guess what would happen? The kids would only continue learning the subjects that they enjoy, are familiar with and are comfortable doing. That doesn’t make for a well rounded education now does it? And I’m sure that if given the choice, some kids would stop going all together! Sound familiar?

Folks, if you’re like 95% of the population, simply joining a gym and doing it on your own will simply not work. To achieve significant long-term results you need personal expert advice, guidance, support and accountability… and THAT’S why we don’t offer casual memberships.
